Asst. Handyman/Gardener/Estate Management - Surrey

We are seeking an Assistant Estate Supervisor reporting directly to the Estate Supervisor, to primarily assist with the following:

  • The smooth functioning of the principal residences and additional smaller support properties in Surrey, Central London and Dorset.

  • Carrying out unskilled repairs and preventative maintenance of the properties to the highest possible standard.

  • Overseeing and supervising contractors at the properties and supporting renovations as required. 

  • Providing support with all household matters including but not limited to technology, engineering & maintenance contracts, construction projects, pool/spa maintenance, landscaping, lutron/crestron lighting controls and heating and cooling systems etc.

  • Identifying efficiencies and savings to the running costs where possible.

  • The daily maintenance and cleanliness of the pool car.

  • The upkeep of the garden and outside features when required.

    Responsible for:

  • Conducting regular safety checks on household safety equipment ensuring records are accurately maintained.

  • Checking and assessing defects recorded in the property’s defects book.

  • Being the secondary point of contact for members of the Family Office, household staff, suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors for property maintenance.

  • Regularly travelling between properties to check and assess condition of all aspects of the properties, carry out minor maintenance and repairs where necessary and to report finding to the Estate Supervisor.

  • Assist in keeping the grounds clear of any dog / animal fouling.

  • Deputising for the Estate Supervisor during periods of absence.

Experience & Quals:

  • It will be an advantage if candidates possess a trades qualification and have an understanding of other trade skills.

  • Project management experience welcomed.

  • An understanding of UK Health and Safety and statutory regulations.

  • An understanding and experience of listed buildings and statutory regulations associated with the undertaking of works to properties and services.

  • Advantageous to have previous experience in private homes, deluxe or boutique hotels or Museums and Galleries – indeed any properties where great emphasis has been given not only to cutting edge E&M and IT/AV systems but also the soft and hard finishes, art, antiques along with fixtures and fittings.

Core Skills & Knowledge:

  • Common sense in abundance with sound judgement, a logical problem solver with good judgement and confident decision-making capabilities.

  • Confident and calm manner when liaising with all relevant stakeholders  

  • A positive ‘can do’, enthusiastic and organised team player who is hands-on.

  • Able to pre-empt and resolve unforeseen situations arising from programmed or ongoing works.

  • Able to take control of the supervision of all general household maintenance.

  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills along with an excellent command of English, spoken and written

  • IT proficiency and good knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office (word/excel etc) especially in relation to maintaining reports and inventories.

  • Able to acknowledge that while this is essentially a Monday to Friday role, they will need to offer flexibility at weekends, if required.

  • Comfortable around large dogs.

  • Must have right to work in UK, with current DBS clearance (or happy to apply), and clean UK Driving Licence.

  • Must have recent and easily checkable references.

Package:

  • Monday – Friday predominantly working in Surrey and London properties, and occasional in Dorset property for the day (most likely twice a month).

  • Salary £35,000 - £38,000 gross pa DOE & Quals, plus statutory holiday entitlements & pension.

  • Pool Car available for work purposes.

Maintenance Technical Director - Private Estate, Greece

Our private client is seeking an immediate hire for a Maintenance Technical Director for a Private Estate in Lefkada Greece, with occasional travel to other properties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Manage and supervise the maintenance team, including technicians and contractors Develop and implement maintenance programs, schedules, and procedures

·       Conduct regular inspections of all facilities and equipment to identify and address any maintenance issues

·       Coordinate with other departments to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks

·       Oversee and ensure compliance with all regulations and safety procedures

·       Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime and optimize performance

·       Manage and maintain spare parts and supply inventories

·       Create, monitor, and implement the annual budget

Required Qualifications:

·       Degree from the Department of Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related field

·       Proven experience in a similar maintenance management role in the hospitality industry

·       Strong technical knowledge in areas such as HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance

·       Excellent leadership and team management skills

·       Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

·       Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both Greek and English

·       Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the hospitality industry

·       Excellent English language skills and proficiency in MS Office

·       Clean criminal record & EU passport / Right to Work in Greece

·       Relocation to Lefkada is required.

Competitive salary Euros 4k net x 14 salaries plus Euro 650 euro p/mth for accommodation and performance bonus.
