Live In Female Carer / Companion - Enfield, London
/Seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated female Carer / Companion to support an elderly female within her home in Enfield (female due to personal & intimate care).
This position is well suited to an individual with prior care experience who is committed to enhancing quality of life through companionship, reassurance, and practical assistance. The successful candidate will reside within the client’s home during working periods and deliver personalised support tailored to her individual needs and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include assisting with personal care (including washing and dressing), managing medication, preparing light meals or reheating food, and supporting with household tasks, light housekeeping and local shopping. The property is a two-storey home with three bedrooms, equipped with a stair lift and walk-in shower.
Strong English communication skills are essential, as the role involves coordinating medical appointments, liaising with contractors, and maintaining regular communication with family members, who visit frequently and are in daily contact.
Key Responsibilities
Providing day-to-day personal care and practical support
Assisting with personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support where required
Preparing meals and supporting nutritional needs
Providing companionship and emotional support
Assisting with medication prompts and wellbeing monitoring
Supporting light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment
Accompanying the client to appointments or community activities if required
Promoting dignity, independence, comfort, and wellbeing at all times
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience in live-in private care, domiciliary care, care homes, or support work ideal
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one — we can assist)
Recent and checkable references
Compassionate, reliable, and professional approach to care
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable (but not Essential):
Clean driving licence and car
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
Medication administration or manual handling training
Must haves:
Must have the right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS (or happy to undertake)
Recent and checkable references covering last 6 years.
Basic IT skills for documentation purposes are beneficial.
Previous experience supporting elderly clients, mobility needs, etc.
Flexibility and reliability are highly valued.
Hours/Package:
Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm with 1 hour lunch break
£500 p/wk DOE including utilities, and travel/petrol money
F/F bedroom with TV, shared bathroom and use of kitchen
Access to garden plus parking space
Alcohol, Smoke and Pet free home
