P/T Laundress - Kensington, London

We are seeking an experienced and professional Laundress to join a team of four housekeepers within a large, formally managed family residence in Kensington. Spanning five principal floors, this substantial household requires a dedicated team player who will work collaboratively with the existing domestic staff to maintain the highest standards of care and presentation.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, take great pride in their work, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. A flexible and proactive approach is essential, with a willingness to go above and beyond when required to ensure the smooth running of the households’ laundry.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing an exceptional standard of service to the family and their guests.

• To be able follow the instructions provided by the principals/guests/management and report to the House Manager

• The day to day running and working in all areas of the laundry (washing, pressing, sorting, spot cleaning, minor repairs and dry cleaning).

• Full ownership of the care and washing of the principals clothing, dry cleaning linen and towels.

• Liaising with the Principal’s to ensure wardrobes and other requirements are well taken care of.

• Wardrobe Management and Organising - Managing all day-to-day items and a high-end shoe collection. Maintaining of all drawers and wardrobes.

• Guiding the housekeeper’s assistance within the laundry.

• Assisting with housekeeping duties when required, supporting members of the operational house team to deliver the highest level of personal service to the principal.

• Maintaining stock control and rotation of all laundry items.

• Assist with Trip planning and packing/unpacking for the principals.

• Must be comfortable working around children

• Follow and complete all departmental SOPs, Systems and duties to the exceptional household standards expected.

• Responding to any other ad hoc duties as required by the family – a high level of amenability and flexibility is required.

Hours & Salary

• Monday – Friday between 9am – 1pm / 2pm

• Hourly rate of £25 gross per hour

• Total hours 20 – 25 hours per week depending on candidate availability

• PAYE contract and Statutory Entitlements pro-rata
